Project Overview
OHTL 220 kV project for feeding El-Ain El-Sokhna factory’s substation.
Short note about project
Egyptians’ Iron (Hadid El-Masryeen) factory launched a 220/66/11 kV substation to feed the factory and its surroundings. The factory needs more than 20 MW of electrical power to operate and that’s why the substation was built. In order to feed the substation, the two lines (Katamya-Masrya) were opened to enter the substation. Therefore, Giza Misr was assigned a mission to supply and construct terminal towers.
and to change the path of the two Katamya-Masrya circuits which called for dismantling some of the towers and constructing new ones. In order to achieve that without turning off the current for a long period of time, Giza Misr constructed the towers before turning off the current. After that, Giza Misr turned off the current for only one day to make the two Katamya-Masrya lines enter Egyptians’ Iron factory substation.
